About the band Das Lumpenpack
Das Lumpenpack are one of the most distinctive voices in German punk rock. The project was founded by Max Kennel and Jonas Frömming, who first built their following as an acoustic duo with sharp lyrics, strong melodies and plenty of self irony. Over the years, the project grew into a full live band with more distortion, more speed and major festival power.
Their sound moves between punk rock, indie, alternative and the German singer songwriter tradition. Das Lumpenpack write songs that can be funny, frustrated, political and deeply relatable at the same time, touching on social pressure, relationships, everyday life and the need to keep a sense of humour. Albums such as Eine herbe Enttäuschung, Nie and WACH helped expand their sound far beyond their acoustic beginnings.
On stage, Das Lumpenpack stand out because they combine opposites with ease: huge singalong choruses and biting observations, party energy and a clear stance, collective release and personal stories.
