Lagwagon
On August 12, 2026, Lagwagon brought their melodic punk rock intensity to SO36 in Berlin. Framed by Let’s Talk About Hoss, the night paired fast guitars, tight breaks and Joey Cape’s unmistakable voice with a crowd ready to shout every chorus back at the stage.
SO36 was the ideal setting for an evening balancing California skate punk nostalgia with full-force live energy. Close, loud and constantly in motion, this was a Lagwagon show where there was barely any distance between the band and the crowd.

About the band Lagwagon
Lagwagon are one of the defining names in 1990s California punk rock. Formed in 1990 in Goleta, near Santa Barbara, the band built a distinctive sound around rapid-fire punk songs, melodic guitar work, technical bass lines and deeply personal lyrics. Led by vocalist Joey Cape, Lagwagon became one of the essential bands associated with the Fat Wreck Chords scene.
Their 1995 album Hoss remains a landmark release in melodic punk and skate punk. Songs such as “Violins,” “Razor Burn” and “Coffee and Cigarettes” capture the reason for the band’s enduring following: the tracks are fast and memorable without ever feeling lightweight. Records including Trashed, Double Plaidinum and Let’s Talk About Feelings further established their sound and influence.
From a concert photographer’s perspective, Lagwagon are especially compelling because their live shows feel both precise and explosive. Every part is locked in on stage, while the floor immediately turns into motion. That combination of experience, speed and genuine connection with the audience continues to make Lagwagon a standout live band.
