About the band Silverstein
Since forming in Burlington, Ontario, in 2000, Silverstein have been one of the defining bands at the intersection of post-hardcore, emo, screamo, and alternative rock. Early on, the band succeeded in combining uncompromising guitar music with big, vulnerable melodies. This very blend made them a mainstay for a generation that did not merely listen to their songs, but lived through them.
With albums such as Discovering the Waterfront, A Shipwreck in the Sand, This Is How the Wind Shifts, and Misery Made Me, Silverstein have continually evolved their sound without losing their emotional identity. Songs such as “Smile in Your Sleep”, “My Heroine”, “Smashed into Pieces”, and “Massachusetts” have long been staples of the scene.
