About the band The Rumjacks
The Rumjacks are among the best-known names in modern Celtic punk. Formed in Sydney in 2008, the band combines the raw energy of punk rock with traditional folk influences from Ireland and Scotland. Accordion, mandolin, tin whistle and rousing choruses meet guitars, intensity and an attitude that feels equally defiant, warm-hearted and rooted in the streets.
The Rumjacks became internationally known above all through the song An Irish Pub Song, whose catchy chorus gained attention far beyond the scene.
