15. November 2009, Columbiaclub, Berlin

August Burns Red

On November 15, 2009, August Burns Red brought their uncompromising metalcore to Columbiaclub Berlin. The band delivered precise riffs, sudden tempo shifts and the kind of energy that charged the intimate room from the opening song.

During the era surrounding Constellations, intricate guitar work met crushing breakdowns and a crowd that matched every movement in front of the stage. It was an intense night for the camera, full of motion, sweat and close contact between the band and its fans.

About the band August Burns Red

August Burns Red formed in Lancaster, Pennsylvania in 2003 and became one of the defining names in modern metalcore. Their sound combines heavy breakdowns and aggressive vocals with melodic guitar harmonies, progressive arrangements and a level of technical precision that sets them apart from many of their peers.

Albums such as Thrill Seeker, Messengers and Constellations helped the band build a dedicated global following. Tracks including Composure, White Washed and Mariana's Trench capture their approach: complex, heavy, emotional and still memorable. From a concert photographer's perspective, August Burns Red are made for live images. The musicians rarely stand still, the rhythm section drives every transition, and the stage is constantly alive with movement.
