Billy Talent

On November 23, 2009, Billy Talent brought their explosive blend of punk rock, alternative rock and hardcore intensity to Berlin's Velodrom. Touring in the era of Billy Talent III, the band delivered the kind of forceful live presence that turns a large arena into a charged, close-range experience.

With sharp guitar riffs, relentless drums and Benjamin Kowalewicz's unmistakable voice, the show captured Billy Talent at full momentum. It was loud, direct and driven by a crowd ready to sing every word back to the stage.

About the band Billy Talent

Billy Talent come from Mississauga, Ontario, and have been one of Canada's defining punk-infused alternative rock bands since the early 2000s. Formed in 1993 under the name Pezz, the group later adopted the name Billy Talent from a character in Michael Turner's novel Hard Core Logo. Vocalist Benjamin Kowalewicz, guitarist Ian D'Sa, bassist Jon Gallant and drummer Aaron Solowoniuk formed the band's classic core.

Albums including Billy Talent, Billy Talent II and Billy Talent III established the band far beyond Canada, with Germany becoming one of their strongest live territories. Tracks such as Try Honesty, River Below, Fallen Leaves, Red Flag and Devil in a Midnight Mass combine memorable hooks with personal, political and socially aware lyrics. From a concert photographer's perspective, Billy Talent are made for the lens: sudden movement, intense expressions, raised guitars and a crowd that is always part of the performance.
