Silverstein
Silverstein took over Berlin's Velodrom on November 23, 2009, bringing their blend of melodic post hardcore, emotional choruses and relentless live energy to the stage. This gallery captures a band that treats crowd connection with the same intensity as the weight of its songs.
Fast movement, dramatic light and moments at the very edge of the stage shaped a set of images full of momentum. It was a night that showed exactly why Silverstein have remained a key name in the international scene for so long.

About the band Silverstein
Formed in Burlington, Ontario in 2000, Silverstein became one of the defining bands at the intersection of post hardcore, emo and alternative rock. Their sound combines heavy guitars, driving rhythms and the distinctive voice of singer Shane Told with expansive, often melancholic hooks.
Early albums such as When Broken Is Easily Fixed and Discovering the Waterfront helped the band build a devoted international following. Tracks including Smile in Your Sleep, My Heroine and Vices highlight Silverstein's ability to place vulnerability and aggression in the same song. At the time of this Berlin show, their 2009 album A Shipwreck in the Sand was also an important part of the band's current era.
From a concert photographer's perspective, Silverstein are compelling because their performances move constantly between precision and release. They play with physical commitment and very little distance from the crowd, while fans answer every line and every breakdown.
