The Used

On August 12, 2009, The Used brought their intense blend of post hardcore, emo and alternative rock to Lido in Berlin. Inside the close confines of the club, huge melodies collided with raw guitars, driving drums and Bert McCracken's unmistakable voice.

This gallery captures a night defined by proximity and energy. At Lido, The Used felt less like a distant headline act and more like a direct current running between the stage and the crowd.

About the band The Used

Hailing from Orem, Utah, The Used have been one of the defining names at the intersection of emo, post hardcore and alternative rock since the early 2000s. Formed in 2001, the band's self titled debut arrived in 2002 and quickly established them as a major voice in the scene, combining pain, melody and unrestrained momentum.

From a concert photographer's perspective, The Used are compelling because their shows rarely stand still. Bert McCracken brings theatrical intensity and deeply personal presence to the stage, while the band moves between anthemic choruses, chaotic eruptions and emotional release. That contrast makes every performance feel musically and visually charged.
