About the band The Used
Hailing from Orem, Utah, The Used have been one of the defining names at the intersection of emo, post hardcore and alternative rock since the early 2000s. Formed in 2001, the band's self titled debut arrived in 2002 and quickly established them as a major voice in the scene, combining pain, melody and unrestrained momentum.
From a concert photographer's perspective, The Used are compelling because their shows rarely stand still. Bert McCracken brings theatrical intensity and deeply personal presence to the stage, while the band moves between anthemic choruses, chaotic eruptions and emotional release.
