Twin Atlantic

On 15 January 2010, Twin Atlantic brought their raw, melodic energy to Lido Berlin. At this early stage, the Glasgow band stood for a potent mix of alternative rock, post-hardcore edge and huge choruses, a sound that felt especially immediate in an intimate club setting.

Sweat, movement and a crowd pressed close to the stage: this show captured Twin Atlantic in an early and unpolished era. The perfect setting for intense live photography, with hard stage light, focused expressions and constant motion.

About the band Twin Atlantic

Twin Atlantic are a rock band from Glasgow, Scotland, formed in 2007. Frontman Sam McTrusty, guitarist Barry McKenna, bassist Ross McNae and drummer Craig Kneale built their sound from the UK alternative and post-hardcore scene while refusing to settle into one fixed genre. Their music combines sharp guitar work, electronic textures, atmospheric tension and choruses made for a full room to sing back.

Early releases such as the Vivarium EP quickly established the band as one to watch in the British underground. Albums including Free, Great Divide, GLA and Power expanded their sound into something bigger, cleaner and more anthemic. Songs such as What Is Light? Where Is Laughter?, Crash Land, Heart and Soul and No Sleep show their ability to balance impact with melody.

From a concert photographer's perspective, Twin Atlantic are built for charged images: McTrusty's physical vocal performance, the close interaction between the musicians and the moments when a club crowd turns into one collective voice create powerful scenes throughout a set. Their shows never feel polished into distance. They are immediate, loud and honest.
